What are your minimum order quantities (MOQ)?

For fresh produce, the standard MOQ is one 40ft refrigerated container (approx. 20–24 tonnes depending on the product). For frozen IQF and FMCG items, MOQs vary and can start from one 20ft container. Please contact our sales team for the exact MOQ of your target product.

How do I request a price quotation?

You can submit a quotation request through our Contact page — select “Request a Quote” as the enquiry type. Please specify the product, quantity, destination port, packing format and target delivery window. We respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

Which food safety certifications do you hold?

FamaFresh is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety). We are also aligned with BRC, HACCP, GLOBALG.A.P and SEDEX standards. Visit our Quality & Food Safety page to view our certificates.

How do you ensure product traceability?

Every carton is labelled with a lot number that links back to the farm, harvest date and packhouse batch. Our digital traceability system enables full transparency from field to final destination — meeting EU, UK and Gulf market requirements.

Which Egyptian ports do you ship from?

We primarily ship from Alexandria Port, Damietta Port and Port Said. For air freight (premium products like strawberries), we operate via Cairo International Airport. Cold-chain integrity is maintained from our packhouse all the way to vessel/aircraft loading.

What are your typical lead times?

Lead time depends on the destination and product type. As a guide: Europe (sea freight) 7–12 days, Gulf countries 4–7 days, Asia 18–28 days. Air freight is typically 1–3 days. We confirm exact dates against the available shipping schedules at the time of order.

Which products are available year-round?

Onions, garlic and IQF seafood (shrimp, calamari, octopus, salmon) are available year-round. Other fresh produce follows seasonal availability — check our Seasonality Calendar for detailed product-by-product availability throughout the year.

Do you offer private-label and custom packaging?

Yes — we provide private-label packaging across our fresh, frozen and FMCG ranges. Available formats include cartons, mesh bags, retail trays, vacuum packs and our latest Skin Pack Technology for premium retail presentation with extended shelf life.

Can I request product samples before placing an order?

Absolutely. We offer sample shipments for new customers to evaluate our quality first-hand. Sample shipping fees may apply depending on the destination. Contact us via the enquiry form selecting “Sample Request”.

What payment terms do you accept?

For new customers, we typically work on a 30% deposit + 70% against shipping documents or Letter of Credit (L/C) at sight. For long-standing partners, we offer extended terms case by case. All payments are processed through authorised international banking channels.
